Remarks
  • Accommodation
A hotel with conference rooms etc.
  • Telephone : 01621 855888
  • The new owner has generally got things moving again. The front bar has been made-over. Beer policy is settling down to Farmers-Adnams. It is still rather more a hotel bar than a community pub - but that's what you's expect.
  • Farmers Ales is now brewing in the stable block at the back.

If you want to see what goes on then the chances are that Nigel will be at work there on a Saturday and happy to show you round and even sell you some bottles.

I find his beers very moorish but they must be properly conditioned to let the beautifulness of their full body come through.

    • One of the pleasing things about the setting-up of this brewery has been the assistance from the established local brewers. So well done to Crouch Vale and Mighty Oak and long may cooperation continue in the cause of quality brewing.
    • Why do they call this the Sistine brewery? - Answer because the painting of the guttering(black) and dry lining (Machinery blue) is a worth visiting on its own! - And what a nice change it made for me to drip paint instead of bend my brains round computers for a day.
    • One day Nigel will have a web site. In the meantime telephone 01621 840925.
  • Tell 'em the Clock-hat-man sent you
There is no other country in the world where you can drink real-ale brewed on the premises and listen to the bell ringers practicing.
